kayak redfishing,space coast,biobait

As always some of the best fishing trips are the ones that you just through together. Thursday was one of those days. Derek and I had a bit of talking to do about the web site, so why6 not chase some red fish too. We managed to do all of the above. After a nice paddle in the kayaks we fond some heavy little reds pushed up in inches of water. They had just enough to hide their backs but would show for just a minute. Of course one pops up 25 ft. in front of my kayak. I tossed a four-inch biobait jerk bait and it sniffed it out and hammered it. I had just received those baits in the mail, it was one of those give your address we send you a test of a new product. As always I was skeptical to say the least, but was impressed. I got couple of shrimp and a few jerk baits. They come heavily scented, and are biodegradable. The plastic is soft, and seemed relatively durable. It does not dry out, I have left one in the sun for a few days. It’s still soft and stinky. The smell is not quite that of the gulp baits, but it is strong and has staying power. The softness of the bait is what sets it apart for me. This red I caught found the bait in mud for water with not the best cast, smell played a part. I am not sure what the story of the baits is but they worked for me.
