How about bringing that skiff up to the lagoon?By the looks of those pics I think some of the haters on here are going to be eating some crow.

Wouldn't be the first time I've eaten crow. I made the offer way back in September or October and it still stands. The mouthpiece from Alabama claimed the draft was less than 5 inches loaded. Bring it on up to JBs and if it drafts less than 5" loaded, I'll buy Hal and GSAW lunch and a pitcher of Ying. Or we can do Louis's BBQ. If it drafts more than 5", I want a Chittum Skiff's long sleeve t-shirt.

You can even come to.

The gentleman from Alabama was mistaken in the 5 inch and under draft numbers.
He was pretty fired up after his ride and he may have thought it went as shallow as compared to the Whip Ray that was there.

We did get this skiff in a lot of the same water as this very light Whip Ray, the bottom of the prototype was dragging, but because the skiff is so light for its size and the fact that it has a level bottom it makes it easier to push off or over.

The draft numbers that we were shooting for during design were 5.99, this was our target draft number that we thought was acceptable with a 12 degree dead-rise.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

I wish it did draft less, I love that BBQ at Louise's, it kept this project going.

P.S. you have a shirt coming on me.

looks pretty cool I must say I hate the way that spray rail is done where it fades out, takes away from the looks of the boat.

I can't wait to get the Vantage to the Keys

My Gordon 16 was advertised to draft 3.5" fully loaded but actually drafts 7-8". On several occasions when it scraped bottom, I took my ruler and actually measured the depth.... 7-8" everytime. Not trying to unleash a 10 page diatribe here on boat draft, just saying 5.99" is a very noble endeavor. Good luck with that.... and by the way, hang an engine on the back before making the measurement.
