17.8 Proping question??

Looking at a new style 17.8 with a 90 yammie 2-stroke...........

I have no idea what prop to get. Looking at a Michigan Ballistic 15 pitch (3-blade) or a Powertech 16 pitch (3-blade).

There doesn't seem alot of folks running this skiff with a 90 yammie so I am having a difficult time getting a consensus on brand/pitch etc.

Any insight would be awesome. Thanks

Be careful. If you say his name three times he will appear out of the mist to tell you everything you are doing wrong with your boat and one up you at every turn. Just don't mention jack plates....he gets mad.

I know that doesn't help you and is very cryptic...Sorry.

If possible find a place to try several different props. imo you need that siff running bow up

captpn used to post on here he has the same setup. Look him up I'm sure he can help.

I agree get the bow up as this skiff rides flat.............but how does a particular prop accomplish this?

What about calling Tom Gordon at HB? He knows what they send them out with and always has feedback on what works.

My boat is a completely diff setup but a 4 blade better serves me.

Yes spoke to Tom lots. Just not a lot of skiffs running the 90 yammie, very little consensus...............

HB just sent one out with a 90 2st yammie. Capt Scott Owens they got pics of it on fb.

I was thinking the new style 17.8's fixed the running to flat problem. "I" would stay away from stern lift props. Hole shot want be a problem with that motor.
