Bunk Grease

Hey,

I just got some new carpet from ramline. What are bunker slicks. Mine was showing wood.

They are hard plastic runners that you attach to your bunks. They have them at Bass Pro and probably at West Marine and other places.

I heard those will tear up your hull and gel coat? Any truth to that?

I saw some slicks on a ramlin trailer at the ramp and you could definatley tell the skiff that sat on it was green.

They don't do anything to my boat. As you know, I have a green skiff and my bunk slicks are still pearly white. They work great. The little skiff slides right off and lands like a leaf on the water.

On another note, if you ever get down this way give me a holler and we'll go fishing. Flamingo backcountry will start cranking up soon.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Got the new carpet installed. She slid on and off with ease this weekend. The carpet made alot of difference. It was pretty worn and torn. Winch doesn't make all the grunting noises as before.


Ramlin told me not to use any slickem. Said it makes the carpet sticky over time. I'm confused over that one.

Best stuff Ive used (told to me by Hal Chittum) is a good silicon tire spray. EZ to put on and leaves no mess and kepps the hull siliconed where you cant reach it too..
