I've been there. Watched probably 60+ fish parade past without even a "F you" as they passed

By the way this string was probably 1000 fish! When they don't wanna bite nothing matters but watching in amazement. My best day there was 15 bites on a Monday afternoon with nobody else around.

Fish in strings are almost always tough. I hate spots like the pocket in islamorada. I much prefer laid up fish, but dont we all. What a great shot though, conjures memories of oceanside. That can be frustrating, to say the least.

My wife moved me here to Illinois, so that pic gets me geared up for my trip back home sans the wife for several weeks of hardcore pooning this summer. The only two skiffs close to that string were Capn Russ's and mine. He was in much better position so we left it alone especially seeing how much difficulty his client was having trying to get a bite. I love looking at the pic trying to pick out the ideal spot to cast to. My initial pick would have been that single fish along the far left side to the rear.

I would have aimed for that one too, which means my cast probably would have ended up lining the 6 lead fish with a giant tailing loop ball of fly line and leader.
