Redfish Looking to buy a boat

I'm looking at buying a boat when i finish my mba and was wondering what makes a hell's bay so great. The people i have met rave about theirs but for me buying my first boat they just seem expensive. I always try to have the best but when i look at the used ones on florida sportsman and else where, a late 90's cost as much as some new ones today. I'm hopin ya'll can provide me with some info on them and also how to find a nice used one such as what to look for and to beware about. Thanks for the help.

not exactly true. More and more late '90s early 200x Hell's Bays are coming on the market and selling for very reasonable prices. Just in the past 6 months there have been several used whiprays/watermans sold for ~$10K. In fact, just last week I saw an '01 HB with 25hp Merc tiller that sold for $10K. I actually saw it before it sold and then again going down the highway behind the truck of some proud new owner.

Keep stashing money away, keep your eyes open and be ready to pounce when the next one comes up for sale. Cash rules!! Good luck.

Keep an eye out on all of the forums (this one, Florida Sportsman, Inshore-Fishing, and microskiff). Every once in a while check boattrader.com. The used HBs (or similar skiffs) come up for sale quite often for anywhere between 8-24K...depending on the make/model of the skiff. There is a nice HB Waterman that's listed right now on microskiff.com for 14K.

How close are ya to fininishing your mba.

I don't think you need to beware of anything on a hb hull. Motors different issue!!!

You've come to the right place these gents should be able to answer questions about any make.

Tom Gordon can work wonders with the older HB's. Or check out ECC.
