| Thanks for the welcome everyone. I took her out for the first time today and got some good practice with the tabs and trim in some rough conditions. She definitely runs and poles skinny. Garry (from CG and microskiff forum) was with me and got the skunk off with a rat red but otherwise conditions were not favorable and it was back to the ramp fairly early. Got 29mph on the GPS. it was too rough to experiment too much. Went to the Gordon show to check on the status of my new push pole and see the ambush. Got to meet flatsphil and see his sweet Waterman...it was nice talking to ya phil. I also got to meet Capt. Bauer, the former owner of this skiff, and get a few more details about the skiff. |

I saw your Dolphin project when it was for sale on boattrader.com and actually thought a few seconds about getting it and saving some money. Now that i saw all of the fixes need to the Dolphin I'm glad I waited patiently. I don't have the fiberglass skills to complete such a project but it looks like it will be awesome when you and the Gordon crew are done with it! I'd like to check out the Dolphin when you are done with it...I've never seen one of those skiff up close. | |
