I am hoping with TLC my merc will last a few more years. I use it a lot though, perhaps I have high hopes.

50 pounds isn't going to make the Boca Grande sit right.

So far so good.........2.5 years only problem was the oil tank cracked when it was new. 7 or 8 yr warranty. Hardly uses any oil........ switched to run the synth.

I am guilty of pouring many types of oil in my motor. I really need to get on one type and stick with it. Probably the worst thing I do to my boat. I add a QT almost every time I take the skiff out, other wise its " beep...beep....beeeeep"

I am thinking about the 90 for my next motor. I have been in a ranger phantom that had one on it, but I cant really judge how that would perform on my skiff from that boat.

DFI's need to have the right oil in them. Carb motors will run well with just about anything, but they use much more of it. DFI's use so little, there is little margin for error.
