Pretty much agree with Jason. Got them on my 16 HB Waterman. Little wind. Don't need them. Over 10mph. line blows over them. Although, they have stopped my phone a time or two. Personally, I think they look cool. To me they don't destroy the lines of the hull. But I usually use a stripping basket. Oh yeah, WELCOME. |

Probably the best use is as a reminder that you are getting too close to the Wet Portion of the skiff. Get a Line Tamer Stripping Basket (approx) $200.00 great function & portable, (you can take it on your non-fly fishing buddy's boat) and real easy to store when not in use and as a bonus great to hold an extra rod or rolled maps when cruising . The best thing is no installation and no deck screw holes I am sure their original purpose was to warn a concentrating caster to stop when he got to the end of his skiff not to actually contain stripped fly line Phil Last edited by engulfed; 01-10-2009 at 05:21 AM. |
