They look to be very nice boats. I look forward to seeing responses that you receive.

The Ambush looks like a good boat, but I prefer the Glades Skiff for the type of fishing I'll be doing. I'm also looking for a tiller boat with manual trim and tilt so I can take the engine off on the water.

I would highly recommend being careful with the removable engine. I was in one when we took the engine off on the water as well, but we were going 25 mph.

The Ambush and the Glades Skiff were designed to do the same type of fishing. I believe the Ambush was Gordon's answer to the HB Glades Skiff when they were separate entities......so they are basically the same boat, only you will get that Ambush cheaper than you would a Glades Skiff. Plus if you have your heart set on that kind of skiff, you will be EXTREMELY hard pressed to find a used Glades Skiff out there. I think I have come across 2 over the past couple years. Both skiffs are great, but I believe the noticeable differences begin and end with the name on the hull.

The ambush has trim tabs and may cost more. Glades skiff does not.

It was also built to accomodate heavier 4 stroke engines, so it's a bit different than the gladeskiff.

I'd like an older Glades Skiff but they never come up for sale. What changes have been made to the new Glades Skiff compared to the old one? How have these changes affected performance? Do you think Tom will build a new Glades Skiff with the old style hull (Without the new changes)?
