fishin in the park

Went fishing down south about 2 or 3 weeks ago somewhere between Flamingo and Choko. Wind was blowing like hell and I ran part of the way on the outside because I was late getting out. Nothing like running perpendicular to 3 foot seas and 20 – 25 mph winds. Was still able to hold 20-25 mph and make it to where I wanted to before dark. Met up with some people and had some adult beverages. Slept on a dock.

Started fishing early the next morning and right away had a nice redfish swim by and eat my lure like an Ethiopian that just found a steak. He was a fatty.

Landed this little guy a few minutes later and moved on to another spot.

Then I caught this one and had lunch.

Area looked like this pretty much everywhere.

After lunch I proceeded to catch a bunch more of these. I should have went to the fly rod since it seemed like they were stacked up in certain areas I found but by this time after lunch the wind was up around 20 mph again.

Called it a day and proceeded to finish off the last of the adult beverages. The next morning I found a school of about 500 black drum that would not eat anything I through at them on spin or fly even though they were feeding voraciously all around my boat. Like within 5 feet of my boat. Exciting to watch but frustrating. Even with matching what they were chasing. Oh well, next time. Went back to catching redfish and snook and then headed home.

The shoes work great. Like running around barefoot except with a lot of protection. They are made by Vibram and they make soles for workboots and are considered pretty much the best.
