Advice, skinny water boats

I'm working on the other side of the pond until 2014 and my wife and I are hooked on the salt fly: reds and trout. In early 2014 we will make our first purchase. Hells Bay boats claim 3.5", 4.5". They claim the skinniest, are they true numbers? A man that has a Chittum claims differently and his 80K boat claims 4.5". We would like one purchase and have for years, quality counts.
Will a 10y.o. Hells bay give you another trouble free ten years. I'm presently in Afghanistan and have lots of time to read. Thanks for all of your practical knowledge.

Not many boats no matter who the builder drafts this skinny and if they do its a bare and i mean bare boat...
and yes all boats have issues no matter the builder or the price tag. Anybody tells you differently is honestly not telling the truth.
Hope this helps?

Thank you, I kind of thought that. I think best bet is take a week or two and go polling then do the calculations, sit down and make a choice.
