| Eisenglass- Keep it clear
Most boats have some kind of enclosure that has clear plastic. There are several types. Strataglass is what we have on the Anyar and the Fish Trap. I use two types of Imar Products made for strataglass. First is a protective polish which we use about once a month or if we get stubborn dirt. Rinse and dry with a chamois to make sure there is no grit or salt crystals to scratch your glass. Use a small microfiber application pad or soft terry cloth rag. Do small sections at a time. Wax on, let haze and then buff off with a clean micofiber cloth. For cleaning imbetween polishes we use and Imar spray cleaner. This is like the "Windex" for plastic. Spray on and buff off. Just as important to keeping your plastic clean is to dry it with a chamois after washing your boat. This eliminates the hard water spots which can become very hard to get off plastic and metal. |

If you go to the Strataglass website, they say to use the Imar stuff. The also talk about the downsides of some of the other products. Rain-X is really bad for it. Imar is all I touch mine with. Of course, Scott has more Strata on one pain than I have on my entire boat. Last edited by Double Z; 03-24-2007 at 11:23 AM. |

| eisenglass cleaning
We don't soap the glass (plastic). Only rinse and chamois on a routine basis. Use the Imar as the periodic cleaner. I have used a spray can called Plexus and it does well, but it is not covered on new Strataglass warranty. After a year the warranty is up and I don't think it will hurt the "glass".

Hanna's Strataglass is around a year old and we have us nothing but IMAR products (Soap, cleaner, and wax), on her so far and she's clear as all get out. Love it. I've only not cleaned it a couple of times before we have gone out and regretted it both times. She gets cleaned before every trip now. Thanks for the thread...........very informative.
