Ft. Jefferson

I'd like to try and get a shot like this some day. Roughly a three hour flight from Orlando. I'm guessing there are some bonefish on the way...

Now that would be a sweet trip Larry. Read about some of the boats they run there from KW where you can drag kayaks, etc.

I took one of the catamarans out there from Key west. Neat place. Standing on a beach watching 200lb tarpon swim a couple of feet away is always fun.

I went there on the Ultimate Getaway live-aboard dive boat out of Ft. Myers. Did about 20 dives around Ft. Jefferson reefs. We also docked at Ft. Jefferson for about an hour and got to walk around. I wandered into the little museum and got so fascinated reading letters written by civil war soldiers describing living conditions there that I missed our group picture. Didn't get to fish out there but lots of fishing boats around so it must be good. Awesome diving!!

I don't know. The national park boundaries are quite vast around Ft. Jefferson. Can you spearfish in national parks?

Alexa and i went there last week and were swimming with tarpon, permit, nurse sharks, cudas, and many other fish. The marine life was beautiful.

I would love to go back. There was just not enough time to see everything.
