Dave got a new prop for his Caiman and wanted to give it a whirl. I met him at Haulover and off we went. Weather was usual, uncooperative. But none the less a good time was had. I poled the boat and Dave caught a dozen or so nice trout to 2 lbs. Tried Louis' Barbeque for lunch for the first time. It was fantastic. Fins' latest reports brought back some memories of places I used to fish when I was about his age. I decided to check a few out. Wound up with this guy:

I have never caught a gar on a flyrod, another species off the to do list.

I have been thinking about hittin some of the old freshy
haunts over here on the island. Its been years since checked
them out. Same old story, kid hops on bike lets it take him as far
as he could get away with. kid grows up gets boats, neglects old fun
and needs a bit of nostalgia slaped in his face.
gar on fly sounds like fun
