Sat Beach Report

Fished this morning soth of Pineda in the Bananna River, a place that I rarely venture, looking to break the ice on my new Maverick (new to me). I just purchased a Mirage 2 last week and have yet to take a serious trip, till today.

On the water at sunrise, fished topwater around bait pods for about an hour with some success. Boated a few respectable trout, but had 4 VERY impressive blowups. Had one snook skyrocket 3' out of the water onto my TopDog, missed it on the way up and down. Pretty comical to see that in person. About 9am we moved into the Grand Canal and proceded to get schooled by Tarpon and a few very large Snukes. We went through alot of jigs and alot of leader material, but no matter how hard we tried, we were under gunned and decided to call it a day around 11 and return another day with some bigger tackle.

The boat performed great, and I'm looking forward to the next trip.
