Post-Gustav Buras, LA Report

I have had numerous people concerned & asked about my good friend, Capt Ryan Lambert. I spoke to him on Saturday, bringing good news.

Even though the water rose to within 4 feet of the nearly 30 foot tall levees in south Plaquemines parish (where Katrina made her landfall), and received some wind and rain damage, He said that once power is restored, food for the lodge is replentished,..Cajun Fishing Adventures will be open for business again.

Looking back to a week after Katrina, Ryan drove on top of one of the levees as far as the flooding would allow. He hitched a ride from an air boat down to the lodge, where he saw the entire area between the levees flooded (about 5 feet of water), as far as the eyes could see. He got off the airboat, and stepped onto the front porch of the main lodge. Out of all the catastrophic visions he witnessed on the way down from New Orleans, he heard a beautiful sound. He turned his head to see both redfish and trout busting mullet,...right in the front yard. At that point, he smiled and said, "I gotta get this place back open as soon as I can." And he did, out of his family savings, and help from others, he re-opened with 6 months after the day that unwanted, ugly woman made her visit.

His business momentum was just starting to rise, when Gustav headed his way. Very good news indeed.

Ryan wanted me to thank everyone who had hopeful thoughts, and prayers for him and everyone else.
