| Late report 8-30-08 YFT
It starts with a phone call from my brother in Washington state. He says "I am bringing the family to San Diego and the wife is giving me a day to fish, make it happen!" I was able to get us a ride on short notice. We left 345-4ish. At greylight I climbed into the tower to try to find paddies or porpoise. It was a little tough o spot kelp because it was greasy flat. After a bit we found a good pod of porpoise. We got ahead of them and get baits in the water. From up in the tower I hear "I'm bit" I look down and my bro is hooked up. while fighting the fish for far to long because he is used to fishing wrong handed and there were only right handed reels on the boat, we gave him a hard time. He is a salmon fisherman and forgot what it is like to catch a fish that pulls. hahaha. The same drill went on for a while. Get ahead of the fish, get baits in the water and get bit. I eventualy climbed down and also caught my first YFT. It was a great day on the water. Thank you Ali and Brant for getting us out and sharing some info. ![]() ![]() Last edited by fishingsolo; 09-06-2008 at 11:25 AM. Reason: pics added |
